Doctors, Hospitals and Facilities

What is the difference between a doctor, hospital or facility that is in-network and a doctor, hospital or facility that is out-of-network?

An in-network doctor, hospital or facility is one that is contracted with an insurance company and can provide members with pre-negotiated rates. An out-of-network doctor, hospital, or facility is one who is not contracted with an insurance company. Typically, if you go to an in-network doctor, hospital or facility your charges will be less than if you go to an out-of-network doctor, hospital or facility.
